How We Care for the Herd

Every day at Guntur Gosala begins and ends with the cows. Here is what your seva makes possible.

01 · Daily feeding

Daily Feeding

Feeding more than 900 cows and calves is the biggest part of our work. Each day the herd is given green fodder, dry fodder and feed, along with clean drinking water.

  • Green fodder and dry fodder
  • Feed for cows and calves
  • Clean drinking water through the day

02 · Orphan calves

Orphan Calves

Many calves come to us without their mothers. In their first months they need extra attention: gentle handling, regular feeding and a safe place to grow.

  • Regular feeding suited to their age
  • A safe, separate space to rest
  • A close watch on their health

03 · Medical care

Medical Care

Sick, injured and old cows are treated at the gaushala. Medicines, wound care and veterinary attention help them recover, and help older cows live in comfort.

04 · Shelter

Shelter and Cleanliness

Clean sheds keep the herd healthy. The sheds are cleaned regularly, bedding is kept dry, and every cow has shade and space to rest.

  • Covered sheds with shade
  • Regular cleaning of the sheds
  • Dry bedding and room to rest
